St. Francisco Marto lays in repose in the Basilica. He was previously buried in Aljustrel, but was moved about 15 years later. He was beatified on May 13, 2000. Then at the 100 year centennial of the Blessed Mother's Apparition, Francisco was canonized by Pope Francis on May 13, 2017.
